Log Marketing

LAFCo supplies saw and veneer mills as well as export markets with high-quality hardwood and softwood logs.

Logs harvested from the property are shipped to LAFCo’s log yard in Chestertown, New York, centrally located in the timber producing region and along the Adirondack Northway section of Interstate 87. These sawlogs are then sold to over 60 mill customers throughout the Northeast and the world. In addition, the property provides a significant amount of pulpwood for the Sylvamo paper mill (formerly International Paper) in Ticonderoga, New York, under a long-term supply agreement.

LAFCo also provides regional landowners with services including the purchase of standing timber, purchase of delivered logs to our log yard and a range of forest management services.
